Harassment Adviser Training

If you feel that you or someone you know is being bullied or harassed at work, you can contact your organisations harassment adviser or confidential contact.  They offer confidential information on issues relating to bullying harassment or equality and a listening and support service without making any judgements about what you say and help you clarify your thoughts about what is happening.

All of our harassment adviser courses are run in an interactive student-centred style, with all assurances given to create a safe learning environment. Please note all our courses are tailored free of charge to your requirements so may vary slightly from the stated aims and outcomes and are run in-house only.

Aim
This two day course aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to be able to give professional advice and support to anyone within the organisation in relation to bullying and harassment and in accordance with your own Policy and Procedures.
Outcomes
Recognise and define bullying and harassment at work
How to identify if someone may be the target of bullying and harassment
Examine the possible effects of bullying and harassment on the target, the bully and the organisation
Understand clearly their role as a Harassment Adviser (what it is and what it is not)
Identify relevant UK legislation relating to bullying and harassment at work
State the key elements of their bullying and harassment policy, in particular the range of options available to those wishing to resolve complaints of harassment and bullying
Develop the appropriate skills of a harassment adviser
Manage their own pressure and know how to access support for themselves
Advise bullies or targets of bullying on the options available to them
Refer to other relevant agencies for additional support in a sensitive and timely manner
Have practiced running aa advisory session with case studies, supported by trainers to create realism (two trainers only for groups over 6)
